Looking at a series of colourful dance pictures, the article explains the Indian concept of experiencing art as an emotional and integrative quality. First, it explains the relevance of colour for Indian art. It moves on explaining Indian dance, which also takes advantage of the usage of colour, as one of the most revered Indian art forms. In a third step, photography comes in which by being able to freeze the colours and the dance movement helps the audience to experience transcendence and wholeness.
